Shopify development Saudi Arabia

A Shopify store that sells in Arabic and invoices to ZATCA rules

Shopify gives you a fast, proven storefront. It does not give you a Saudi checkout, a proper right-to-left theme or an e-invoice trail. We build all three on top of it, so your store works for the customer in Riyadh and for your accountant.

The direct answer

Shopify development means setting up and customizing a Shopify or Shopify Plus store so it fits how your business sells. For Saudi brands that means an Arabic right-to-left theme, local payment methods like mada, Apple Pay and buy-now-pay-later, local shipping, and e-invoices that meet ZATCA rules. We build the theme, the apps, the integrations and the launch.

Before and after

What this removes.

The store looks translated, not Arabic

Today

Your theme was built for English. Arabic text breaks the layout, icons point the wrong way and product titles get cut off.

With the system

The theme is built right-to-left from the first template, with Arabic typography, mirrored navigation and clean product cards.

Customers cannot pay the way they want to

Today

Shoppers abandon checkout because mada, Apple Pay or a split-payment option is missing or hidden behind a redirect.

With the system

mada, Apple Pay, and Tamara or Tabby sit in the checkout, tested on real devices and real bank cards before launch.

Invoices are a manual job

Today

Your finance team rebuilds each order into a tax invoice by hand, and returns turn into credit notes nobody can trace.

With the system

Each paid order produces an invoice in the format ZATCA expects, and refunds produce matching credit notes automatically.

Shopify and the back office disagree

Today

Stock, prices and order status live in two places, so you oversell and your warehouse works from stale data.

With the system

Orders, stock and customers sync with your ERP on a schedule you control, with a log of every failure.

What we build

What lands in your hands.

Arabic RTL theme

A custom or heavily adapted theme with proper Arabic typography and mirrored layouts.

Saudi checkout

mada, Apple Pay, BNPL and cash on delivery rules configured and tested end to end.

Shopify Plus build-outs

Checkout extensions, B2B catalogs, multiple storefronts and automation flows.

In depth

How it works, and what to decide.

Shopify or Shopify Plus: how to decide

Standard Shopify is enough for most single-brand stores. You get a hosted storefront, a solid checkout and a large app store. Shopify Plus matters when you need more control: customizing the checkout with extensions, running separate storefronts for different countries or brands, wholesale pricing for business buyers, or heavy automation on orders and customers.

The decision usually comes down to three questions. Do you need a custom checkout step, such as a delivery date, a national address field or a gift option? Do you sell to businesses as well as consumers? Do you run, or plan to run, more than one store under one team? If the answer to all three is no, start on standard Shopify and move later. Migration between the two plans keeps your products, customers and orders.

We run a short fit check in the first week and tell you plainly if Plus would be money spent on features you will not use. A store that earns well on standard Shopify does not need an upgrade for its own sake.

Making the store work for Saudi shoppers

Arabic is more than a translation file. The theme must be mirrored, numbers and prices must read correctly, and form fields have to accept Arabic names and addresses. We test every template in both languages on phones first, because most Saudi shopping happens on a handset.

Payments are the second piece. Shopify supports local gateways through its payments and app ecosystem, and we connect mada, Apple Pay and the BNPL providers Tamara and Tabby, then run test orders on each. Settlement, refunds and failed-payment emails are checked too, since those are where stores quietly lose money. For gateway choices and approvals, see our payment gateway integration service.

Shipping completes the picture. We configure Saudi carriers, city and district selection, and cash on delivery rules including fees and order limits. Customers get tracking links and a delivery message in Arabic, which cuts the support questions that follow every order.

ZATCA e-invoices on Shopify orders

Shopify produces order confirmations, not tax invoices. If your business is VAT-registered in Saudi Arabia, each sale needs an invoice that meets ZATCA e-invoicing requirements, and the integration phase for your company sets what must be transmitted and when. Returns need credit notes that point back to the original invoice.

We handle this with a small integration layer. When an order is paid, it passes the order lines, tax and customer data to your invoicing solution or to your ERP. The invoice number and QR data come back and attach to the order, so your customer and your accountant see the same document. Refunds follow the same path in reverse.

The exact setup depends on your ZATCA wave, your accounting system and whether you sell to consumers, businesses or both. We confirm this in discovery, and we tie into your accountant's process rather than inventing a parallel one. Our ZATCA e-invoicing integration service covers the deeper compliance work.

Buyer questions

Asked before signing.

How long does a Shopify store take to build for Saudi Arabia?

A focused store with a custom Arabic theme, local payments and invoice setup usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. Large catalogs, ERP sync and Shopify Plus checkout work add time, and we give you a fixed range after the first week of discovery.

What drives the cost of a Shopify build?

The main drivers are how custom the theme is, how many integrations you need, and whether you are on Shopify Plus. Catalog size and data cleanup matter too. We quote a fixed price for the scoped build, and monthly platform and app fees are separate and paid to Shopify and the app vendors.

Will the store support mada, Apple Pay, Tamara and Tabby?

Yes. We configure these through supported gateways and apps, then test them with real cards and devices before launch. Availability depends on your merchant agreements with each provider, so we help you start those applications early in the project.

Do we own the theme code and the store?

Yes. The store sits in your Shopify account and the theme code is handed to you at launch. We work as staff members on your store, and you can remove our access at any time without losing anything.

Can you meet ZATCA requirements on Shopify orders?

We connect Shopify to an invoicing solution or your ERP so paid orders produce invoices and refunds produce credit notes in the structure ZATCA expects. The exact method depends on your integration wave and accounting tools, which we confirm in discovery.

What happens after launch?

We monitor the store, fix faults and keep apps and the theme current under a monthly support plan. You can also hire us by the sprint for new features such as bundles, loyalty or a second storefront.
