mobile app maintenance services

Keep your app working and compliant after launch

Apps decay. Operating systems change, store rules tighten, libraries age and users find edge cases. We take over a live app, built by us or anyone else, and run it on a fixed monthly plan.

The direct answer

Mobile app maintenance is the ongoing work that keeps a live app functioning: fixing bugs, updating for new iOS and Android versions, meeting changing App Store and Google Play rules, patching security issues and monitoring crashes. It fits any company with an app in production. We audit it, take it over, and run it on a monthly plan.

Before and after

What this removes.

The original developer has disappeared

Today

Nobody on your team can open the code, and you cannot fix a small bug without a long search for someone.

With the system

We audit the code, set up a clean build and take over releases within weeks.

A new iOS or Android version broke the app

Today

Users update their phones in September and your app starts crashing or losing features.

With the system

We test against beta releases and ship a compatible update before the public rollout.

A store warning threatens removal

Today

Apple or Google emails about an outdated target version or a policy change, with a deadline.

With the system

We track store requirements ahead of the deadline and handle the changes and resubmission.

You do not know what is wrong until reviews drop

Today

Crashes and slow screens go unseen, and the first signal is a one-star review.

With the system

Monitoring flags a bad release within hours, and a staged rollout limits who sees it.

What we build

What lands in your hands.

App audit and takeover

Code, dependencies, build setup and store accounts reviewed and documented.

OS and store compatibility updates

Annual iOS and Android upgrades and required SDK target changes.

Bug fixing and small features

A monthly allowance of hours for defects and agreed improvements.

Security and dependency patching

Library upgrades and fixes aligned with the OWASP Mobile guidance.

Monitoring and alerting

Crash reports, performance traces and uptime checks on the backend.

Release management

Staged rollouts, release notes and rollback plans for every update.

In depth

How it works, and what to decide.

Why a live app needs work every month

An app that was perfect at launch will not stay that way untouched. Apple and Google each ship a major operating system release every year, and both change permission prompts, background limits and privacy rules as they do. Stores also raise the minimum target version they accept, so an app that is not updated can be blocked from new installs or warned for removal.

Third-party libraries age too. Payment SDKs, analytics tools, map providers and push services release breaking changes, and old versions pick up known security flaws. Meanwhile your own backend and APIs change. A field renamed on the server can quietly break an older version of the app that thousands of people still run.

Maintenance is the routine that absorbs all of this. Without it, the cost does not vanish, it arrives later as a rushed fix at a bad moment, usually just before a deadline from a store.

What a maintenance plan actually covers

We start with a one to two week audit, which includes the code, the dependency list, the build and signing setup, the store accounts and the backend. You get a written health report with the risks ranked and a recommended plan. If the app was built by another team, we clean up the build so releases are repeatable, and document how to build it.

After that the plan runs monthly. It includes monitoring and triage of crashes, a set allowance of hours for fixes and small features, upgrades for each new iOS and Android version, and store policy updates as they arrive. Security work follows the OWASP Mobile Application Security guidance, and we patch known vulnerabilities in libraries on a schedule.

Urgent issues, such as a crash on launch or a failing payment flow, have an agreed response time, and we publish a hotfix through a staged release so a mistake cannot reach every user at once. Larger changes, such as a redesign or a new module, are scoped separately and priced before work starts.

Saudi requirements that keep applying after launch

Compliance does not end at release. If your app collects personal data, the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) from SDAIA keeps applying: consent records, access and deletion requests and breach handling need to keep working as the app changes. We re-check them whenever a release touches data collection.

Apps in regulated sectors, such as finance, carry requirements from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), and staff apps in covered organizations may fall under the controls of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA ECC). We apply the patching and logging discipline those controls expect, and we flag items that need your compliance team rather than guess.

Hosting for the backend can stay in a Saudi cloud region in line with the cloud rules of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST). As a guide, a typical small app needs a plan of a few hours each month. Apps with active development, several integrations or a large user base need a dedicated monthly allocation, which we size in the audit.

The delivery plan

Five stages. You sign off every one.

Read each stage as a small contract: what we need from you, what lands in your hands, and the sentence that has to be true before we move on.

01 / 04

Audit and takeover

1 to 2 weeks

We review the code, dependencies, build, store accounts and backend, and document how the app is built and released.

What you do
  • Share repository access and store accounts
  • Introduce the previous developer if possible
  • List known defects and complaints
What we deliver
  • A written health report with ranked risks
  • A working, documented build and release process
  • A recommended monthly plan
Exit criteria

We move on when we can build, test and release the app ourselves and the plan is agreed.

02 / 04

Stabilize

2 to 4 weeks

We fix the highest-risk defects, upgrade critical libraries and set up monitoring before routine work begins.

What you do
  • Approve the priority fix list
  • Test fixed builds
  • Confirm the response times you need
What we deliver
  • A stabilized release
  • Crash and performance monitoring
  • Updated dependencies and target versions
Exit criteria

We move on when crash rates are visible and the top risks are closed.

03 / 04

Monthly cadence

ongoing

Each month we triage issues, ship fixes and small improvements, and publish a release with notes.

What you do
  • Report issues and feedback
  • Approve the monthly priorities
  • Review release notes
What we deliver
  • A monthly release
  • A triage report of defects and crashes
  • Security and dependency patches
Exit criteria

We move on when each month ends with a shipped release and a closed list of agreed items.

04 / 04

OS and store updates

2 to 6 weeks, yearly

Before each major iOS and Android release, we test on beta versions and ship a compatible update.

What you do
  • Approve any visible changes
  • Provide updated store content if required
  • Sign off the release
What we deliver
  • A tested compatible release before public rollout
  • Updated store listings and declarations
  • A summary of changes for your team
Exit criteria

We move on when the app runs correctly on the new OS versions and meets current store requirements.

Buyer questions

Asked before signing.

Can you maintain an app that another team built?

Yes. We start with a one to two week audit of the code, build and store accounts, then document how to build and release it. If the code is in poor shape, we tell you the risks and the options before you commit to a plan.

How is maintenance priced?

Maintenance is a fixed monthly fee based on the app's size, integrations and the response times you need. It includes monitoring, updates and an hours allowance for fixes. Larger changes are scoped and priced separately before work starts.

What happens if the app crashes at night or during Ramadan peaks?

Monitoring runs around the clock, and urgent issues have an agreed response time in the plan. We ship hotfixes through a staged release, so a mistake cannot reach every user at once, and we can roll back quickly.

Do we need to give you our store accounts?

We need developer access to your Apple and Google accounts to release updates, which you can grant and revoke at any time. The accounts and the app stay owned by your company throughout.

Does maintenance include new features?

Small improvements fit inside the monthly hours allowance. Larger features, a redesign or a new module are scoped as separate projects with their own price, so the maintenance plan stays predictable.
