progressive web app development

An app your customers can install from a link and use offline

Not every product needs two native apps and an app store review. A progressive web app runs from one codebase, installs to the home screen, works on a weak connection, and updates the moment you ship.

The direct answer

A progressive web app is a website built with app features: it installs to the phone's home screen, opens full screen, works offline and can send notifications. It fits field teams, delivery crews, customer services and internal tools where a native app is more cost than the job needs. We design it, build it once, and publish it by link.

Before and after

What this removes.

Two native apps cost twice as much

Today

You need Android and iPhone versions, two codebases, and two sets of fixes for the same feature.

With the system

One codebase serves every device, so each feature is built and tested once.

App store review delays every fix

Today

A bug fix waits days for approval, and users keep running old versions for weeks.

With the system

Updates go live as soon as you deploy, and everyone gets them on the next open.

Field staff lose work when the signal drops

Today

Inspectors and drivers in basements, yards or remote sites cannot submit forms without coverage.

With the system

The app stores work locally and syncs automatically when the connection returns.

Customers will not download another app

Today

A one-time user will not install a large app from a store for a single order or booking.

With the system

They open a link, use the service immediately, and install only if they want to return.

What we build

What lands in your hands.

App shell and offline support

Screens load instantly and keep working with no connection using service workers.

Installable experience

A manifest, icons and prompts so users can add the app to their home screen.

Local storage and sync

Work saved on the device and sent to the server in order once online.

Notifications and device access

Push notifications where supported, plus camera, location and file access.

Bilingual interface

Arabic and English with proper right-to-left layout and number handling.

Backend and integration

APIs, authentication and connections to your ERP or CRM.

In depth

How it works, and what to decide.

What a PWA can and cannot do

A progressive web app is built from standard web technology with three added pieces. A manifest tells the phone how to install it. A service worker caches the app and its data so it opens offline. And secure delivery over HTTPS lets the browser grant device features. The result opens full screen and has its own icon, though it is still delivered through the browser.

On Android, support is broad: installation, offline use, background sync and push notifications all work in Chrome and other major browsers. On iPhone, installation and offline use work, and push notifications are available once the app is added to the home screen. Some capabilities, such as deep Bluetooth control or certain background tasks, remain limited on iOS.

That is why we check requirements before recommending a PWA. If your product needs heavy background processing, advanced hardware access or presence in an app store as a business requirement, a native or Flutter app is the better choice. For forms, dashboards, bookings, catalogues, inspections and customer service, a PWA is usually enough and much cheaper to maintain.

Designing for offline and weak connections

Offline is a design decision, not a switch. We decide with you which screens must work with no signal, what data they need, and what happens when two people change the same record. A site inspector needs the checklist, the site list and the camera available offline. A customer booking page may only need to show a clear message and keep the form safe until the connection returns.

We store the working data in the browser's local database and queue changes to send later. When the connection returns, the app sends them in order, handles conflicts according to rules you set, and tells the user clearly what has and has not been saved. Nothing disappears silently.

Performance matters just as much. Many Saudi users are on mobile data, and sites in remote areas have patchy coverage. We keep the first load small, load images lazily, and cache aggressively, so the app starts quickly even on a poor connection.

Security, Arabic and publishing

A PWA stores data on the user's device, so we treat that data carefully. Sensitive information is minimized, sessions expire, and the server checks permissions on every request. We follow the OWASP guidance for web applications and test authentication and storage before launch. If personal data is collected, the Personal Data Protection Law shapes what we ask for and how long we keep it.

Arabic works the same as in any web application, but small details matter on phones: right-to-left navigation gestures, numbers in forms, date pickers and keyboard types. We test on real Android and iPhone devices in both languages, not just in a desktop browser.

Publishing is simple. The app lives at your web address, so users reach it from a link, a QR code or a search result. If you later want a store listing, a PWA can often be packaged for Google Play, and we will tell you honestly what Apple's App Store would require. You keep one codebase throughout.

The delivery plan

Five stages. You sign off every one.

Read each stage as a small contract: what we need from you, what lands in your hands, and the sentence that has to be true before we move on.

01 / 05

Fit check and scope

1 week

We confirm a PWA is the right choice, then define the screens, offline needs and users.

What you do
  • Describe who uses the app and where
  • List the device features you need
  • Share any existing forms or processes
What we deliver
  • A fit assessment: PWA, native or hybrid
  • A scoped screen and feature list
  • A fixed price and timeline
Exit criteria

We move on when the scope and the offline rules are approved in writing.

02 / 05

Design

1 to 2 weeks

We design phone-first screens in Arabic and English and test them with real users.

What you do
  • Review clickable screens
  • Test on your own phones
  • Approve the final design
What we deliver
  • A clickable prototype
  • Arabic and English screens
  • A design system for later screens
Exit criteria

We move on when the intended users have approved the prototype.

03 / 05

Build

3 to 5 weeks

We build the app, the offline layer and the backend, with a test link you can open any day.

What you do
  • Install the staging app on your devices
  • Test with poor or no connection
  • Provide sample data
What we deliver
  • A working installable app
  • Offline storage and sync
  • Authentication and the backend API
Exit criteria

We move on when the app completes its main workflows offline and online.

04 / 05

Testing and launch

1 to 2 weeks

We test on a range of real devices, check security and speed, and publish.

What you do
  • Run a pilot with a small group
  • Approve the launch checklist
  • Share the install link with users
What we deliver
  • Device and browser test results
  • Performance and security checks
  • Monitoring and error reporting
Exit criteria

We move on when the pilot group has used it in real conditions without blocking issues.

05 / 05

Support and updates

ongoing

We monitor usage and errors, and ship improvements without an app store wait.

What you do
  • Send feedback from users
  • Prioritize new features
  • Tell us about new devices in use
What we deliver
  • Monitoring and security updates
  • Fixes released the same day they are ready
  • A monthly usage summary
Exit criteria

We move on when support is running monthly and you know how to reach us.

Buyer questions

Asked before signing.

Does a PWA work on iPhone as well as Android?

Yes, with some differences. Installation and offline use work on both. Push notifications work on iPhone once the app is added to the home screen. A few advanced hardware features are limited on iOS, and we check yours before you commit.

Is a PWA cheaper than a native app?

Usually, because you build and maintain one codebase instead of two, and you skip store review cycles. The saving depends on your features. If you need deep device access, we will tell you a native or Flutter app is the better investment.

Can it work with no internet connection?

Yes. We decide with you which screens and data must work offline, store them on the device and sync when the connection returns. Conflicts are handled by rules you approve, and users always see what has been saved.

Will it appear in the App Store or Google Play?

It lives at your web address first. A PWA can often be packaged for Google Play. The Apple App Store has stricter requirements for web-based apps, and we explain what would be needed before you decide.

Does it support Arabic properly?

Yes. We build right-to-left layouts, Arabic number and date handling and the correct keyboards, and we test on real phones in both languages rather than relying on a desktop browser.

Ready to ship an app without the store queue?

Tell us who will use the app and where. We will check whether a PWA fits and send a fixed price within a week.
